This Wednesday my adviser left to Almaty, so I took his classes til the next Wednesday.I had such a good contact with 7th grade students! They are always active and quite enough when it is needed, as I have noticed they are very energetic. So I decided to add more music, games and activities.

As we have 3! Lessons at once, on the last lesson we usually have extra 10-15 minutes and we watch cartoon that they like very much

I participated the lesson of Jayvee, he teaches the right pronunciation and accent

Today I had a lesson with 8 A, the lesson was pretty good and after having the first lesson I was invited to the tea time( brunch?) for teachers. I liked that friendly and warm atmosphere of school so much! The teachers welcomed me and I talked to and got recognized with some of them.The rest of the day I spent at school doing some paper works

The second class which I was given is 7th graders. And as it was my first lesson with them, I found a very good ice breaker- M&M’s game, for this I bought two bags of M&M’s ( turned out that one is enough for a class of 20-25 students) and their task was to pick up one candy and tell a fact according to the color

It was very funny and interactive activity

The topic of the lesson was «Its a goal!»

I also was preparing the whole night for this lesson and conducted it successfully!

Last week Nurgozha teacher sent me a book (pdf) and told which unit they had started

So all weekend I was preparing for the lesson

I have found some activities, warmup, icebreakers to get to know students, also prepared a President and a video

I was nervous a bit before the lesson, but when lesson started I felt very confident and comfortable with these guys

They all were very active during the lesson, I also baked some cookies for boys and packed them into a paper bags, which I made myself ( the topic of our lesson was recycling)

Most of the Students speak 3 languages

Kazakh or Russian language are considered to be their 1st language

Some students have been learning English more than 5 years, while others have been learning it for 2-3 years

Some students have attended courses, individual lessons of English, the teachers used various methods of teaching such as communicative activities, project works and individual approach and students found them to be effective, the most boring was grammar translation, teacher centered Lessons in previous school which they didn’t like

Students learn English to win places on Olympiad, pass IELTS, enter the university, work abroad and for the future goals

They like learning English at school

I can say that they are very active and motivated

I think that it was right decision to ask students what do they expect from my lessons and want to have during my teaching. Turned out that students like singing, watching English shows and playing games. My students love interactive activities and games, they are very active when doing exercises that interest them, also they prefer games to check their grammar such as Kahoot, mines/life.., tic tac toe, jeopardy and so on ; during the lesson students are free to ask questions and help to each other, they also prefer group work and love the game Stop the bus! All information collected helped me very well to have a base for the future work and also to build a good relationships with students.

Facilities resources available: SB,WB,TB; laptop, printer, internet connection, projector, interactive board, 2 whiteboards, markers, papers

Additional information: school has own traditions and rules not similar to others schools, for instance, everyday reading time for students, tea time for teachers once a week, also the way of upbringing children plays a great role in their learning process. Knowing and following rules of the school is important in order to teaching and learning Process more effective. Some school traditions also help stuff support good relationships

2) students have 9 hours (7th graders) and 6 hours+ 2 practical English (8th graders)of English per week

English is used as medium of instruction at chemistry, biology, physics, geometry, algebra

English level of students by the time they finish school is intermediate or upper-intermediate

I found a task for the last day of English week, it was a word search puzzle on topic » My school»

All the tasks we put or stick in the hall so student can have fun during the breaks

All of the students liked this English week and I was happy to be a part of it

Today Jayvee Nono — the teacher from Philippines asked me to help him with debates after the lesson

And I was judging again

10th graders participated debates, I really liked the way they played, argued and responded to the questions, also they was very active and felt confident
